Neon Enters Guadagnino's Artificial in Golden Globes Comedy Races
The studio submitted the film just before the deadline, with Yura Borisov up for best actor in a musical/comedy and Andrew Garfield in supporting.
Neon has entered Luca Guadagnino's film Artificial for Golden Globes consideration in the musical/comedy categories rather than the drama races, submitting it just ahead of the submission deadline, according to hollywoodreporter.com.
In the best picture musical/comedy field, Artificial will compete against Wild Horse Nine, The Invite, The Debut, Obsession, Club Kid, Project Hail Mary and Tender Loving Care.
Yura Borisov, who plays OpenAI co-founder Ilya Sutskever, will compete in the best actor musical/comedy race. Andrew Garfield, who plays Sam Altman, is entered in the supporting actor race, and Monica Barbara, who plays OpenAI CTO Mira Murati, will be up for best supporting actress.
Amazon/MGM dropped Artificial, reportedly out of fear of angering tech figures portrayed in it, before Neon picked it up. The film had its world premiere at the New York Film Festival on Oct. 5.
The 84th Golden Globe Awards will take place on Jan. 10, 2027.
