Netflix Sets October 30 Theatrical Release for Peter Berg WWII Drama

The 127-minute film, based on a true story, will open in theaters before streaming; Netflix also plans an IMAX run for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth and a big-screen release for Narnia: The Magician's Nephew.

Netflix will release a Peter Berg-directed World War II drama in theaters starting October 30, according to Collider. The film, based on a true story, runs 127 minutes.

The theatrical launch marks another collaboration between Berg and Netflix. The director previously worked with the streamer on Spenser Confidential, the limited series American Primeval and the 2023 series Painkiller.

Netflix is also planning an extended IMAX run for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth ahead of its Netflix debut this November, and will treat Narnia: The Magician's Nephew as a big-screen release next year.

WWII titles find audiences

The move comes as several WWII-themed projects have performed well. Nuremberg grossed around $70 million globally last year, while Pressure holds a 95% audience score on Netflix. The documentary series World War II with Tom Hanks became a PVOD sensation this summer.

Netflix recently lost a bid for Warner Bros., and the streamer has also given limited theatrical runs to titles such as La Bola Negra.
