Obsession Map Out Netflix US Debut and Peacock Exit for Nov. 17, 2026

The film, a Focus Features title suggested for Academy Awards consideration, heads to Netflix the same day it leaves Peacock in the US.

Obsession is set to leave Peacock on Nov. 17, 2026, the same date it is expected to launch on Netflix in the United States, according to a report from Polygon. The film comes from Focus Features, with Curry Barker credited as writer and director.

The move to Netflix follows a $523 million worldwide box office gross tracked by Box Office Mojo. Focus Features is suggesting the film for Best Picture, Inde Navarrette for Best Actress and Curry Barker for Best Original Screenplay at the forthcoming Academy Awards.

Obsession first arrived on Peacock on July 17, 2026, drawing 456 million minutes streamed in its first two days according to Nielsen. It spent more than 150 days on JustWatch's U.S. streaming Top 10 list.

The film was made on a $750,000 budget and earned $17.2 million in its first week and $23.9 million in its second week in theaters. In a June 2026 interview with the Associated Press, Barker said he felt impostor syndrome about the film's success. Before the feature, he built a following making sketches and short films on YouTube.

In November 2026, a Nikki Freeman skin, the character played by Inde Navarrette, was released in Fortnite with a "No, No, No..." emote. Michael Johnston plays the main character, Bear.
