Gisondo Says The People v. Gorilla Grodd Filming Wraps
Skyler Gisondo confirmed shooting on DC Studios' eight-part true-crime docuseries has ended, with Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda as showrunners.
Skyler Gisondo said filming on DC Studios' The People v. Gorilla Grodd has wrapped. The actor, who plays Jimmy Olsen, confirmed the end of production on the series, according to Bleeding Cool.
The show is described as an eight-part true-crime docuseries in which Jimmy Olsen reopens the murder case against Gorilla Grodd. Gisondo said the series comes from Dan Perrault and Tony Yacenda, the creators behind American Vandal.
Gisondo said his version of Jimmy Olsen in the series is more off-the-wall and more intense than his turn in the film, and that the stakes of the show are surprisingly big.
The cast includes Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Jimmy Tatro as Gorilla Grodd, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant and Wendell Pierce as Perry White. James Gunn, Peter Safran, Tony Yacenda and Dan Perrault executive produce, with Yacenda and Perrault as showrunners and writers and Yacenda directing all episodes.
The series is set between Superman and Supergirl and the upcoming Man of Tomorrow. In October 2025, James Gunn and Peter Safran said that coming out of Superman they knew the Daily Planet world would be fun to explore.
