Richard Brener to Join Paramount Warner Bros, Continue Leading New Line

New Line President and CCO Richard Brener is expected to move to the new Paramount Warner Bros studio under Skydance while continuing to lead New Line.

Richard Brener, President and Chief Creative Officer of New Line Cinema, is expected to move to the newly formed Paramount Warner Bros studio under Skydance, according to Deadline. He is also expected to continue leading New Line after the transition.

The merger is expected to close early next week. Once completed, Paramount Production Co-Chairs Dana Golberg and Josh Greenstein will have all Warner Bros labels reporting into them.

Brener was first hired by New Line production boss Michael De Luca in 1995. Over his tenure, he oversaw franchises including The Conjuring, the It movies, Final Destination and Weapons.

In October 2025, The Conjuring: Last Rites grossed close to half a billion dollars worldwide. Final Destination: Bloodlines took in $317.8M, the biggest in that franchise.

DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran are also making the transition to the new Skydance. Warner Bros Motion Picture Chiefs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy are departing.
