Runner Climbs PVOD Charts After Digital Debut
Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson's action film lands among the top movies on Amazon, iTunes and Vudu after a soft theatrical run.
Runner, the action film starring Alan Ritchson and Owen Wilson and directed by Scott Waugh, has debuted on the premium video-on-demand market and quickly landed among the most popular movies on the domestic Amazon, iTunes and Vudu charts, according to Collider, citing FlixPatrol data.
Viewer reception has been strong relative to reviews: the film holds a 90% audience score and a 78% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The digital arrival follows a quiet theatrical run. Runner grossed around $15 million domestically against a reported budget of $45 million.
From Reacher to the rental charts
Ritchson became one of the biggest streaming stars of his generation through the Prime Video action-thriller Reacher. In October 2025, he also starred opposite Hilary Swank in the faith-based drama Ordinary Angels.
The PVOD performance gives the film a second life with home audiences after its box office underperformance.
