'Sinners' Music Exhibition Opens at California African American Museum

'Sinners: Sounds That Summon' runs from October 20 to March 14 and is presented with Warner Bros. Archives.

"Sinners: Sounds That Summon," an exhibition devoted to the music of Ryan Coogler's film "Sinners," opened at the California African American Museum. The exhibition is on view from October 20 to March 14, according to Variety.

Presented in collaboration with Warner Bros. Archives, the show is described as the first museum exhibition devoted to a film's music. It is co-organized by CAAM and Warner Bros. Archives and curated by Imani Y. Haynes.

The exhibition revisits the Club Juke sequence and centers on the guitar used by protagonist Sammie 'Preacher Boy' Moore. It also includes costumes, objects and archival material from the film, among them Smoke and Stack's costumes and the Club Juke sign.

The show is organized around three themes: Music Makes Sound, Music Makes Movement and Music Makes Worlds. It culminates in a participatory experience titled Sounds That Carry Us.

Awards run

"Sinners" was nominated for 16 Oscars at the 98th Academy Awards, the most of any film in history, and won four: best actor, original screenplay, cinematography and original score. Michael B. Jordan played twin brothers in the film.
