Street Fighter Cast Pitch Sequel Ideas as Box Office Clouds Future

Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo and Callina Liang told MovieWeb what they want next, while Kitao Sakurai has said Sagat would feature.

The cast of the 2026 Street Fighter film has set out what they would want from a sequel, in an interview with MovieWeb. Andrew Koji, who plays Ryu, said he hopes to keep telling the story of Ryu, Ken and Chun-Li, while Callina Liang, who plays Chun-Li, said she wants the core characters to reunite on screen.

Noah Centineo, who plays Ken, said he would like the character to mature and to explore Ken meeting Eliza in a potential follow-up. Andrew Schultz, who plays Dan Hibiki, said Dan still wants payback against Sagat.

Director Kitao Sakurai has already confirmed plans to bring in Sagat in a potential sequel, after teasing the character in the film's post-credits scene. That confirmation predates the cast's new comments and was not a fresh announcement.

Any sequel remains uncertain. The film, directed by Sakurai, opened with underwhelming box office results, leaving its future prospects unclear.

Game lore behind the sequel talk

The live-action film was released on October 16, 2026. In the video games, Sagat accidentally killed Dan's father, Go Hibiki, which fuels Dan's desire to train under Gouken. Eliza first appeared in Street Fighter II as Ken's long-time girlfriend, and she marries him during the prologue of Ken's Arcade Mode story. Guile is married to Eliza's older sister, Julia.
