New Street Fighter Film Sought Kylie Minogue Cammy Cameo

Orville Peck, who plays Vega, said he texted Minogue on the producers' behalf, but she could not fit the cameo into her schedule.

The new live-action Street Fighter film tried to bring Kylie Minogue back as Cammy, but the cameo fell through because of her schedule, co-star Orville Peck said in an interview with Queerty. Minogue played Cammy in the 1994 film.

According to Peck, producers had trouble reaching Minogue until he offered to text her. Peck, who plays Vega in the new film, is a friend of the Australian pop star. Minogue was willing to appear, Peck said, but could not fit the shoot into her calendar.

Peck also said Minogue told him that making the original Street Fighter movie was one of the most fun experiences of her life. That 1994 film, released in a wave of video-game adaptations, later became something of a cult classic; it included Raul Julia's performance as M. Bison in one of his last roles.

Peck added that he is still trying to arrange a meeting with co-star Mel Jarnson for a meeting of the Cammies. The new film, which also stars Callina Liang as Chun-Li and David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, has grossed $57.3 million USD in theaters.
