Skyler Gisondo says The People v. Gorilla Grodd has wrapped filming
The DC Studios mockumentary comedy, in which Gisondo's Jimmy Olsen investigates Gorilla Grodd, is set to arrive in 2027.
Filming on DC Studios' mockumentary comedy series The People v. Gorilla Grodd has finished, according to Skyler Gisondo, who plays Jimmy Olsen. Gisondo told Collider that shooting wrapped a couple of weeks before the interview and that the series is "in the can".
In the show, Gisondo's Olsen investigates the case of Gorilla Grodd, played by Jimmy Tatro. The series is created by Dan Perrault and Tony Yascenda, the pair behind American Vandal.
Gisondo said the project takes an approach to the DC Universe that has not been seen before. It is described as DC's next live-action TV project and is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
Grodd's comics history
Gorilla Grodd was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino and first appeared in 1959's Flash #106. The character comes from Gorilla City, a nation of gorillas given super-intelligence and mental powers by a crashed alien spaceship.
Gisondo first played Jimmy Olsen in the 2025 film Superman. The People v. Gorilla Grodd was announced earlier in 2026.
