The Terminator is scheduled to leave its free streaming platform, Tubi, in November 2026, according to Screen Rant. The departure means the 1984 sci-fi film will no longer be available on the service after that date.
Directed by James Cameron, who co-wrote the film with producer Gale Anne Hurd, The Terminator had a budget of $6.4 million and a runtime of 107 minutes. Arnold Schwarzenegger starred as the T-800, with Linda Hamilton and Michael Biehn also in the cast.
A franchise that keeps expanding
The film's 1984 release launched a major sci-fi franchise. In 2017, the franchise's place in Hollywood was on display again when Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to Blade Runner, underperformed at the box office.
Sci-fi properties continue to move to television. Screen Rant notes that Prime Video's Blade Runner 2099 is continuing the Blade Runner story on the small screen.
