Toma Ikuta will voice the three-eyed cat Bief Roger Clamchuck in the Japanese dub of Disney Animation Studios' Billy and the Magic Beginning, the casting was announced at a Halloween event at Shibuya Modi on October 28, 2026, according to animeanime.jp.

Ikuta was selected for the role through an audition held by Disney's US headquarters. He said the part marks his first time doing voice acting work.

He appeared as a surprise at the event wearing cat ears inspired by the character. Meiu Hata, who voices protagonist Billy in the Japanese dub, summoned him on stage using a spell from the film, and a portion of the scene where Billy first meets Bief was shown to the audience.

The director of the Japanese dub, Sasaki, praised Ikuta's performance for bringing out Bief's sarcastic and difficult personality.

Billy and the Magic Beginning opens in theaters in Japan on December 4, 2026.

Hata cast earlier as Billy

Hata had previously been announced as the Japanese voice of Billy, the film's modern high school student protagonist, and appeared floating at an earlier event.
