Zygi Kamasa said the company took the decision to enter administration amid extremely challenging market conditions. An independent specialist has been appointed to assess options and aim for the best outcome for the company and creditors.
Simons Muirhead Burton will take charge of True Brit's operations and attempt to restructure the company financially so it can pay creditors.
True Brit launched in 2023 with backing from Three Six Zero, and Marv Studios, co-founded by Matthew Vaughn, holds a stake in the company.
The distributor's releases have included The Death of Robin Hood, Giant, Marching Powder, and Sunny Dancer. Kamasa previously served as Lionsgate UK and Europe's CEO and Marv Studios Group CEO, and has worked on the release of more than 40 British titles, among them Bend It Like Beckham, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, Brooklyn, Eddie the Eagle, and The Father.
