Mackie says Twisted Metal season 3 has wrapped filming
The actor confirmed the shoot is finished and that Anthony Carrigan returns as Calypso in the Peacock series.
Anthony Mackie has confirmed that production on Twisted Metal season 3 has wrapped, and that Anthony Carrigan is returning as Calypso. The actor, who plays John Doe and executive produces the Peacock series, discussed the season in an interview reported by Screen Rant.
Mackie said the new and returning creative team set out to elevate the third season. Mark Hamill joined the cast as Pope Charlie Kane, the father of Sweet Tooth, at the start of production, and David Reed took over as showrunner from Michael Jonathan Smith.
The series' second season, which aired before the current run of episodes, introduced the car combat tournament led by Calypso. Peacock confirmed season 3 about four months after that finale.
Filming on the new season began in June 2026. Previous seasons have had long gaps between the end of shooting and release: season 1 wrapped in May 2022 and its episodes began streaming about 11 months later, while season 2 had roughly a nine-month gap.
Season 2 ended with John and Quiet framed for the death of a spectator stand and planning to hunt Calypso. Stephanie Beatriz plays Quiet opposite Mackie.
