Anthropic Adds Legal Artifacts Gallery to Claude for Legal

Anthropic added a legal-work Artifacts gallery and expanded connectors to its enterprise legal AI service Claude for Legal on October 28, according to aitimes.com. The gallery lets legal staff input documents and related materials and share the results with colleagues.

The tools can be customized to an organization's internal rules and workflows without specialized programming knowledge. Each tool includes usage examples and links to the source materials behind its results.

Anthropic said the gallery tools include reviewing batches of contracts, tabulating specific clauses, and checking citations and page numbers against source documents. Tools can also compare company standard contract terms with actual contracts, flag exceptions and forward them to approvers. Legal research tools can compare a topic such as data breach notification duties across multiple states or countries, or identify upcoming regulations based on a company's business area and operating regions and rank them by expected impact.

Other tools consolidate legal matters scattered across email and spreadsheets into a single board tracking owners, next steps and deadlines. Anthropic said it expanded connectors to more than 60 legal-sector systems, including Bloomberg Law, Filevine, Ivo, Legora and Patlytics.

Goodwin, Harvey, Foley & Lardner and PwC developed dedicated Artifacts tools, and Anthropic plans to add tools from Legora and Orrick. Nine Artifacts for legal aid and access to justice were also added, five of them developed by nonprofits and public-interest organizations supported by Anthropic.

The company is launching a Legal Ambassadors Program for legal professionals who build tools with Claude. The new Artifacts gallery is available in Claude.
