Anthropic rolls out Claude Personal Finance beta in US
Claude can connect bank and card accounts through Plaid to review spending and bills, with read-only access and no sponsored recommendations.
Anthropic has unveiled Claude Personal Finance, a feature inside Claude that analyses users' finances, and began rolling it out in beta this week to Pro, Max and Ultra subscribers in the US, according to Android Authority.
Users can connect bank and credit card accounts to analyse spending, track upcoming bills and spot unusual charges. Connections run through Plaid, so users authenticate directly with their bank rather than giving Claude their banking password.
Access is read-only: Claude cannot transfer funds, manage accounts or make investments. Authorised connections expose balances, credit limits, account details and up to two years of transactions.
Anthropic says conversations in the dedicated Personal Finance hub will not be used to train its models, and users can disconnect accounts at any time. The feature carries no sponsored financial recommendations.
Earlier signals
Anthropic was first spotted developing the Personal Finance feature in September. Bank of America recently cautioned customers against sharing banking passwords with AI assistants, while OpenAI has already introduced financial account connections in ChatGPT and Google's Gemini can analyse spending through its Wallet integration.
