Anthropic files for Nasdaq IPO under ticker ANT
The 400-page SEC prospectus shows first-half 2026 revenue of $16.3 billion and a net loss of $80.7 billion, largely from a one-time charge.
Anthropic filed a prospectus with the SEC on Monday ahead of a planned listing on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol ANT, in what would be one of the largest technology market debuts in recent years. The 400-page document sets out the company's operating results, business risks and strategic goals for investors, according to Deadline.
The filing reports revenue of $16.3 billion in the first half of 2026, a 14-fold increase over the same period in 2025. Anthropic also reported a net loss of $80.7 billion, which it attributed in large part to a one-time charge.
The company's estimated post-IPO valuation sits between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion, with the listing likely to take place in mid-to-late November.
Hastings weighs in on AI risk
Anthropic board member Reed Hastings said on the On with Kara Swisher podcast that the main AI risk is creative destruction threatening companies rather than humanity's existence. Hastings, the co-founder and former CEO of Netflix, said researcher Jacob Coxon is not the ideal messenger for warnings about AI extinction risk, but that the message resonates with the public.
Hastings joined Anthropic's board in 2025. In recent weeks, multiple former Anthropic and OpenAI staffers have warned of a greater than 10% chance of human extinction within the next decade, and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei recently joined other top executives in warning about the risk of harm from AI.
The filing lands amid heavy AI spending across the sector: Meta has announced it intends to raise $95 billion in equity financing to push deeper into AI, while Microsoft said it is offering voluntary buyouts to 60,000 employees as it shifts resources toward AI.
