Apple hires Meta veteran Scott Tucker to lead global litigation
Scott Tucker joins Apple in a newly created VP role covering worldwide commercial and patent litigation and financial services legal work.
Apple has hired Scott Tucker, who spent about six years at Meta, as vice president of global litigation and financial services, according to 9to5Mac. The position is newly created.
The role oversees worldwide commercial and patent litigation as well as Apple's financial services legal work. The hire was reported on October 19, 2026.
The appointment also changes reporting lines inside Apple's legal organization. Heather Grenier, vice president of commercial and competition litigation, now reports directly to Tucker instead of to legal chief Jennifer Newstead.
Other duties were reassigned at the same time. Kyle Andeer's role was expanded to cover international legal affairs, online child safety, cybersecurity and law enforcement matters. Nate Gatten, formerly of American Airlines, was hired as vice president of government affairs.
Earlier legal leadership changes
Before joining Meta in 2021, Tucker held a senior legal position at Morgan Stanley. In March 2026, Apple appointed Newstead, previously Meta's chief legal officer, as its legal chief, succeeding Kate Adams. After Lisa Jackson's retirement, government affairs duties were folded into Newstead's remit, integrating the legal and government relations organizations.
