Apple drops Siri AI waitlist in iOS 27 except at peak demand
Apple says Siri AI now downloads automatically after users tap 'Try Siri AI (Beta)' in Settings, with waitlists reserved for high-demand periods.
Apple has updated a support document to state that the Siri AI waitlist in iOS 27 is no longer in general use, according to 9to5mac.com. Access to the assistant is now granted directly rather than through a queue for every user.
Under the revised guidance, Siri AI begins downloading automatically once a user taps "Try Siri AI (Beta)" in Settings. Users no longer need to wait for a slot before the feature arrives on their iPhone.
Apple said a waitlist may still appear during periods of high demand. In those cases, users could be added to a queue first, with wait times varying depending on traffic.
Siri AI launched in iOS 27 earlier in fall 2026, when Apple used a waitlist to gate access. The company needed to grant access gradually while gauging server performance at first, and the rollout is now nearly two months in.
