Meta acquires AI coding startup Conductor

Conductor's cloud service will shut down on November 20, and the company will begin deleting user cloud data afterward.

Meta has acquired Conductor, an AI coding startup, Conductor founder and CEO Charlie Holtz announced on the company's blog. Meta confirmed the acquisition to TechCrunch but declined to provide further details.

Conductor's cloud service will shut down on November 20, after which the company will begin deleting user cloud data. Holtz said Conductor's core features will keep working as before until early next year.

Holtz added that Conductor plans to have something new for customers by early next year.

Conductor was founded in 2024 and launched its core product last summer. Its agents are built by major labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI rather than in-house.

Meta's expanding AI lineup

In August 2026, Meta launched Muse Code, its own coding agent. The company recently reported that its Muse agents service had surpassed 10 million users.

Over the past year, Meta has made several AI-related acquisitions, including Moltbook, an agent platform.
