ASUS launches three ROG Strix Platinum power supplies from 46,979 yen
The 80 PLUS Platinum units use GaN MOSFETs, support ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1, and ship with the ROG Equalizer 12V-2x6 cable.
ASUS has released three 80 PLUS Platinum ATX power supplies equipped with GaN MOSFETs and a patented intelligent voltage stabilizer, according to Akiba PC Watch. The lineup comprises the 1,200W ROG Strix 1200W Platinum (ROG Equalizer), model ROG-STRIX-1200P-GAMING-E, at 52,980 yen; the 1,000W black ROG Strix 1000W Platinum (ROG Equalizer), model ROG-STRIX-1000P-GAMING-E, at 46,979 yen; and the 1,000W white ROG Strix 1000W Platinum White Edition (ROG Equalizer), model ROG-STRIX-1000P-GAMING-WHITE-E, at 48,980 yen.
All three units support ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 and each includes one 12V-2x6 connector. Each also ships with a single soft-embossed 12V-2x6 PCIe cable called ROG Equalizer, which ASUS says is designed to keep cable and connector temperatures at appropriate levels and protect the graphics card.
Voltage sensing and cooling
ASUS says the power supply body carries the intelligent voltage stabilizer (IVS); connecting an IVS-compatible cable enables a GPU-First voltage sensing function that improves voltage stability by up to 45% during gaming or overclocking.
The units use dual ball bearing cooling fans and an ROG heatsink, measure 160x150x86mm and carry a 10-year warranty.
