Dongfang Shuili Unveils Hebao DF-H3 Water-Cleaning Robot

The Chinese firm's autonomous robot recognizes floating trash by camera and returns to base on its own when full.

China's Dongfang Shuili has unveiled the Hebao DF-H3, an autonomous robot designed to collect floating trash from water, according to etnews.com.

The robot uses cameras to recognize and track floating debris such as plastic bottles, plastic bags and fallen leaves. It plans its own route, avoids obstacles and collects the trash automatically.

Dongfang Shuili says the Hebao DF-H3 can operate for more than 12 hours on a single charge and reach a top speed of 4 km/h. It can process up to 18,000 liters of floating waste per hour.

When its bin is full, the robot returns to its base on its own to unload the collected trash. It was developed for use in urban rivers, parks and other bodies of water.
