DRAM revenue jumps 369% in Q3 2026, Samsung leads at 38%

Counterpoint Research reports record global DRAM revenue for the third quarter of 2026, driven by sharp growth in DDR and LPDDR shipments.

Global DRAM revenue rose 369% year on year in the third quarter of 2026 to a record high, according to Counterpoint Research's 2026 third-quarter global memory tracker. Samsung Electronics held 38% of the DRAM market in the quarter, keeping first place.

DRAM average selling price rose to 1.9 dollars per gigabit in the third quarter. DDR revenue climbed 500% year on year and LPDDR revenue rose about 400% year on year, the research firm said.

SK Hynix's revenue grew more than 40% quarter on quarter, recovering part of the share it lost earlier in the year. CXMT's market share fell from 10% in the second quarter to 9% in the third quarter.

HBM revenue nearly doubled, but HBM's share of total DRAM revenue shrank because commodity DDR and LPDDR grew faster. Counterpoint forecasts record quarterly results again for major memory suppliers next quarter.

Background

In the second quarter of 2026, CXMT held a 10% DRAM market share. New large memory fabs are not expected to start operation until 2028, according to Counterpoint. SK Hynix led the HBM3E market but its recent growth has slowed.
