Elecom launches MAGKEEP magnetic USB Type-C card reader
The MR3C-M20P attaches to the back of MagSafe-compatible phones, offers SD and microSD slots, and carries an expected price of 3,780 yen.
Elecom Co., Ltd. has released the MAGKEEP USB Type-C memory card reader MR3C-M20P, a card reader that attaches magnetically to the back of MagSafe-compatible smartphones. The expected retail price is 3,780 yen, according to internet.watch.impress.co.jp.
The MR3C-M20P connects to a smartphone or PC through a USB Type-C cable and supports USB 5Gbps (USB 3.2 Gen 1) data transfer. It carries both SD and microSD slots, each supporting UHS-I, and a rotating cover protects the cards from dust.
A dedicated USB Type-C charging port on the unit can supply power to the connected smartphone or PC when used with an adapter of up to 65W output, so cards can be read while a device is charging.
The body measures about 60 x 60 x 17 mm and weighs about 45 g, with a cable length of about 0.13 m. Elecom offers a black model and a white model, the latter sold only through online shopping channels.
