Grep's precision glasses verification adopted by 21 organizations
Grep says 21 companies and public institutions now use the glasses-check feature added to its Monito AI exam proctoring solution in August.
Grep announced on October 28 that the “precision glasses verification” feature added to its AI exam proctoring solution Monito has been adopted by 21 companies and public institutions, according to aitimes.com.
Under the feature, test takers who wear glasses must remove them before the exam and photograph four areas with the Monito app: the front, the side, the inner surface and both temple tips. Supervisors can review each test taker's glasses photos, record any irregularities and cross-check the data once the exam has ended.
Grep plans to add a vision-language model (VLM) feature in November that analyzes test takers' behavior and flags suspicious signs, aimed at catching cases in which a candidate switches to smart glasses during an exam.
Earlier proctoring tools
In August 2026, Grep added the “precision glasses verification” feature to Monito. The company had previously introduced Monito Plus, a security browser that blocks connections to external programs and devices, alongside an LLM-based feature for reporting suspicious situations.
