Intel Unveils Robotics AI Suite for Robot Development
Intel introduced its Robotics AI Suite, an open-source platform built on ROS 2, at the Intel Robotics Workshop in Seoul on October 14, 2026.
Intel introduced its Robotics AI Suite, an open-source platform for developing and deploying AI robots, at the Intel Robotics Workshop held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Seocho-gu, Seoul on October 14, 2026, according to techm.kr. The suite combines a software development kit, microservices and reference applications.
The platform is built on the open-source middleware ROS 2 and provides an operating system, firmware, real-time and AI acceleration libraries, motion, perception and manipulation algorithms, and an AI model runtime environment. Intel also provides a real-time BKC (Validated Recommended Configuration) that bundles a real-time Linux kernel, Intel real-time libraries and BIOS settings.
Physical AI Studio is an open-source framework for imitation learning that covers robot calibration, data collection, model fine-tuning, evaluation and export. Its OpenVINO Physical AI framework handles deployment, accepting models trained in Physical AI Studio or Hugging Face's LeRobot.
Intel also presented a modular Robotics Reference Board with EtherCAT, CAN, GMSL camera and USB interfaces. Gianpaolo Takare, an Intel optimization and technical support architect, presented the platform at the workshop.
Earlier robot demonstration
At Computex this year, Intel demonstrated industrial assembly work using a robot arm together with Trossen, fine-tuning a Pi0.5 VLA model with assembly data and running it on a Panther Lake (PTL)-based system.
