iPhone 18 Pro series sales up 3.1% globally in first three weeks

Counterpoint Research data shows China sales jumped 29% year-on-year, while the US and Japan recorded declines.

Global sales of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in the first three weeks after launch were 3.1% higher than those of the iPhone 17 Pro series in the same period a year earlier, according to Counterpoint Research data reported by 9to5Mac.

The global figure masked sharply different regional results. Sales in China rose 29% year-on-year over the three weeks, while US sales fell 4% and Japan sales dropped 27%.

Within the Pro line-up, the iPhone 18 Pro Max accounted for 56% of total Pro series sales, down 1 percentage point from the 57% share held by the iPhone 17 Pro Max in the same period a year earlier.

Counterpoint Research attributed the weak Japanese demand to price increases caused by exchange rates, according to the report.
