iPhone Duo adds Apple Pencil (USB-C) support in iOS 27.2
A TechRadar report says pen input works on both the 5.4-inch outer and 7.6-inch inner displays, though the stylus must be connected by cable.
Apple's foldable iPhone Duo has gained Apple Pencil (USB-C) input through the iOS 27.2 update, according to a report by TechRadar. The stylus is paired with a USB-C cable rather than attaching magnetically to the device.
The iPhone Duo has a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner screen when unfolded, and pen input works on both. That includes Scribble for handwriting Safari addresses, notes and simple equations. Only the Apple Pencil (USB-C) model is compatible with the phone.
TechRadar tested drawing with Procreate Pocket, since the iPad version of the app does not run on the iPhone. Palm rejection worked and pen response was fast, but the fold crease can be felt when drawing across the unfolded screen.
The main screen recognises pen angle and speed, but not pressure. Apple has also not built any structure for attaching, storing or charging the Apple Pencil on the iPhone Duo.
