KISA opens Daejeon security center, completing 16-region network
The Daejeon Information Security Support Center is the last of six new regional hubs to hold an opening ceremony this year, KISA said.
KISA held an opening ceremony for the Daejeon Information Security Support Center on November 6, 2026, at the Daejeon Information Culture Industry Promotion Agency, according to dailysecu.com. With the Daejeon center open, the agency has completed a nationwide network of 16 regional information security support centers.
KISA expanded the number of regional centers from 10 to 16 this year. The six new additions are Gyeongnam, Daejeon, Sejong, Jeonnam, Jeonbuk and Jeju, and Daejeon is the last of them to hold an opening ceremony.
The Daejeon center will offer information security consulting, support for adopting security solutions and services, and training and seminars for local small and medium-sized enterprises. It also plans to develop cooperation models through the Daejeon Information Security Expert Forum (D-SAFE), including a Yuseong-type model for youth and elderly vulnerable groups and a Daejeon-type model.
About 100 people attended an integrated information security council meeting and seminar held alongside the ceremony, where participants discussed software supply chain security and responses to open-source vulnerabilities in the AI era.
Instead of congratulatory flower wreaths, a rice donation was collected and given to a local volunteer group.
Earlier footprint
Before this year's expansion, KISA operated 10 regional centers in Gangwon, Gyeonggi, Gwangju, Gyeongbuk, Daegu, Busan, Ulsan, Incheon, Chungnam and Chungbuk.
