CryptoLab launches HEracles encrypted database security tool

The plugin, API and hybrid product supports on-premises and cloud databases and kept all 1,000 test records from leaking in a mock attack.

CryptoLab has launched HEracles, a database security solution that uses homomorphic encryption to search and compute on data without decrypting it, the company announced on November 6, 2026.

HEracles is offered as a plugin, an API and in a hybrid form, which the company says reduces the burden of changing existing database environments. It supports both on-premises and cloud deployments.

In a mock hacking test run on 1,000 synthetic personal records of virtual university members, a conventional database exposed all 1,000 originals, while the HEracles environment leaked no original data, according to dailysecu.com. The test assumed an attacker had gained read access by seizing a database query account, with multiple AI agents carrying out attacks and sharing information with one another.

The Northeast Asian Biodiversity Institute was the first organization to adopt HEracles. CryptoLab said several more companies and institutions are preparing to adopt the solution.
