KISA vulnerability service cleaned 5.55 million software cases

The vaccine-linked cleaning service ran 80.3 million inspections before its 2026 operation ended on November 4, according to dailysecu.com.

KISA said on November 6 that its vaccine-linked security vulnerability cleaning service remediated 5.55 million vulnerable software installations during this year's operation, which ended on November 4, according to dailysecu.com.

The service carried out 80.3 million inspections and detected and notified 12.31 million vulnerable software cases. Of those, 5.55 million were remediated, a rate of about 45.1%.

Users receive vulnerability notifications inside their existing antivirus software and can act through a "resolve vulnerability" button without installing separate software. Four major software types with high hacking risk were designated for focused management.

Four vaccine companies took part: Everyzon with Turbo Cleaner, SGA Solutions with Virus Chaser, Exosphere Labs with Exosphere, and Inca Internet with nProtect Online Security.

KISA plans to expand the software covered by inspections and resume the service in 2027, and to increase the number of participating vaccine companies step by step from 2028.
