KT Details AI Work-Time Cuts at 2026 AID-X Day

KT disclosed internal AI adoption cases showing large reductions in working time across its group at the 2026 AID-X Day, held at the KT Pangyo Building on October 14-15. The company presented the results at the event, according to byline.network.

KT said AI cut the time needed to analyze app reviews and customer center feedback from about 8 hours to under 10 minutes. It also said some software development projects were shortened from 9 months to 6 months.

At distribution subsidiary kt m&s, about 2,000 employees used the AI work support platform Nexus, saving 40,000 hours of work time per year, the company said. Promotional images take about 30 seconds to produce with AI, and presentation materials under 5 minutes, according to kt m&s.

KT and KT DS said a pilot using CODE, software they jointly developed, completed program development including testing in three days, compared with about a month previously. KT DS said its AI agent management platform METHIS.AI cut product testing time from 15 minutes to 3 minutes and document writing from 3 hours to 30 minutes.

Earlier survey findings

In January, Samsung SDS surveyed 630 Korean office workers; 73% said their work time decreased after using generative AI, while 5.6% said it increased. A study by Eric Brynjolfsson, Daniel Li and Lindsey Raymond published in the Quarterly Journal of Economics in 2025 found that customer support agents assisted by AI resolved 15% more issues per hour.
