Kurly opens Dongtan Kurly Now as Baemin, Coupang Eats expand quick commerce

Kurly opened its first Kurly Now branch in Gyeonggi Province in Dongtan on November 2, according to digitaltoday.co.kr, as Baemin and Coupang Eats push ahead with their own quick commerce plans.

The Dongtan branch carries about 6,000 products and offers delivery in roughly one hour. About 24,000 businesses, including convenience stores and marts, are currently listed in Baemin's grocery and shopping service.

Woowa Brothers said at WooCon 2026 in October 2025 that it had merged the product and inventory systems of B Mart and Baemin Store. The unified system cut branch product data to under 5% of previous levels by storing only values that differ from headquarters, and system failures during bulk changes fell by more than 70% after the integration. Inventory lookup in the app was unified across seller stores and B Mart inventory without merging the underlying inventory ledgers.

Baemin also signed an agreement with point-of-sale vendor Together in October 2025 to link its POS system with the Baemin app. About 5,000 stores using Together POS can now handle orders, product registration and inventory management on their existing terminals, and Baemin plans to expand participating marts starting next month.

Coupang Eats relaunched its in-house quick commerce through Rocket Now, drawing on inventory Coupang has stockpiled in its logistics centers. Rocket Now is in pilot operation in Seongsu-dong in Seoul, Yongin in Gyeonggi Province and Jeju. Coupang Eats previously ran Eats Mart, launched in Songpa-gu, Seoul in 2021 and closed in August 2025.
