Loplat launches subscription location API for developers

Loplat API bundles IP-based and Wi-Fi-based positioning, offers a 14-day card-free trial and returns results in JSON format.

Loplat, a location technology and data company, launched a subscription-based location API service called Loplat API on November 5, 2026, according to datanet.co.kr. The service combines two positioning products: Loplat IPS and Loplat WPS.

Loplat IPS determines the access region down to province, city/county/district and town/township level using only an IP address. Loplat said its own tests recorded 96% accuracy at province level and 88% at city/county/district level. Loplat WPS draws on more than 100 million nationwide Wi-Fi AP data and delivers an average error of about 15 metres.

Developers and companies can sign up on the web and receive an API key without a separate contract. Responses include latitude and longitude, an error radius and an administrative address, and add floor information at major commercial facilities such as department stores, shopping malls and subway stations.

Users can test the service free for 14 days without registering a card, after which they choose a monthly subscription plan based on usage. Responses are delivered in standard JSON format for integration with AI agent-based services.

Existing carrier deployment

Loplat's Wi-Fi positioning technology is already used by domestic telecom carriers to identify locations in emergency rescue operations.
