Mavi, an AI-powered talent marketplace founded in 2023, emerged from stealth on Monday with $4 million in seed funding led by Harlem Capital. The round had not been previously announced.
The platform connects U.S. companies with global financial and accounting talent, focusing on full-time, long-term placements for mid-level and senior-level positions. Mavi says it has more than 3,000 accounting professionals on its platform.
Beyond matching, Mavi handles cross-border contracts, legal and compliance, and payroll for global hiring, according to the company. Enterprise client Athena Club is already using the platform.
Molly Liu, co-CEO of Mavi, previously worked at Ramp, Lyft, and Dropbox. The company's approach targets a persistent accounting talent shortage in the U.S. by tapping professionals abroad.
