Meta Expands Muse AI Agent to Business Apps, Launches Enterprise Platform

Meta announced that its Muse AI agent can now connect to a broader set of productivity apps, including Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Notion, Slack, Stripe, and Zoom, and can access Facebook and Instagram business accounts. The company also unveiled the Meta Enterprise Platform, a new unit led by chief enterprise platform officer CJ Desai, initially focused on bringing Muse to businesses and developers alongside Meta Business Agent, the Muse API, and Muse Code.

According to theverge.com, the expansion marks a push to position Muse as a workplace tool rather than a consumer novelty. Previously, Muse could connect to apps such as Gmail and Outlook, but the new integrations extend its reach into project management, design, payments, and video conferencing.

Meta also addressed questions about Muse's handling of local files. Nat Friedman said that Muse offering up its filesystem contents on request is intended behavior. Meta spokesperson Daniel Roberts denied that the behavior represents a security breach.

The company said the Muse Charm device will not have a dedicated Instagram app or native access despite its built-in camera. Earlier this month, Meta launched the Muse AI agent with an emphasis on security features, and it had previously announced plans for a Tamagotchi-like Muse Charm device.

Developers Peter James and Jonny L. Saunders said they independently coaxed Muse into sharing its entire filesystem, raising questions about how the agent handles sensitive data as it expands into business environments.
