Microsoft to end Copilot support on all smart TVs this year

A service termination notice on LG TVs says Microsoft will drop Copilot across all TVs, with the exact date undisclosed.

Microsoft has decided to end support for its Copilot feature on all smart TVs, including sets from LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics, within this year, according to The Verge. The IT outlet was first to report the move.

The decision surfaced through a service termination notice shown on LG smart TVs. The notice states that Microsoft will end Copilot support on all TVs and that the feature on LG TVs may no longer be usable or may stop working soon.

The exact termination date has not been disclosed. Microsoft, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics have not issued separate official press releases on the change.

Support end schedules per TV model and any replacement service plans have also not been confirmed.

Earlier rollout on TVs

In January 2025, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics announced plans to adopt Copilot at CES 2025. In August 2025, Samsung Electronics officially added Copilot to some TVs and smart monitors. In December 2025, LG Electronics drew controversy by adding a non-removable Copilot shortcut through a webOS update; users complained the AI feature was added without prior consent, and the company said it was a web browser shortcut rather than a built-in app and that it would provide a removal option.
