Microsoft launches MAI Cyber 1.1 Flash in MDASH security framework
The new cybersecurity model matches its predecessor's vulnerability detection while cutting the cost per scan by 18%, Microsoft says.
Microsoft released the cybersecurity AI model MAI Cyber 1.1 Flash and integrated it into its MDASH multi-agent vulnerability detection and remediation framework, the company announced on October 27. The company said the new model matches the vulnerability detection performance of the previous model while reducing the cost per scan by 18%.
In Microsoft's internal MDASH vulnerability scan evaluation, MAI Cyber 1.1 Flash improved token efficiency by 20% compared with the previous model, according to aitimes.com.
MAI Cyber 1.1 Flash is built on MAI Cyber 1 Flash. MDASH combines more than 100 specialized security agents with multiple AI models: MAI Cyber 1 Flash handles about 90% of security tasks, while GPT-5.4 handles the harder remaining 10%.
The new model is provided to eligible customers through MDASH.
Adoption of the earlier model
In the past 30 days, MAI Cyber's user adoption doubled, with hundreds of customers running thousands of scans that account for about 50% of all MDASH scans, Microsoft said.
