Nvidia driver 621.01 adds Advanced Shader Delivery to Modern Warfare 4 and Gears of War: E-Day

Driver 621.01 WHQL supports Microsoft's Advanced Shader Delivery on all RTX GPUs, though the feature only works with games downloaded through the Xbox PC app.

Nvidia has released GeForce Game Ready Driver 621.01 WHQL, which adds support for Microsoft's Advanced Shader Delivery, according to pcgamer.com. The driver brings the feature to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Gears of War: E-Day.

The update covers all RTX GPUs, from the 20-series through the 50-series. Advanced Shader Delivery is only available for certain supported games that are downloaded or updated through the Xbox PC app.

Nvidia said the precompiled shader database, tailored to a user's rig, is bundled with downloads made through the Xbox PC app.

A journalist reported that system RAM usage in Gears of War: E-Day dropped by roughly 7-8 GB with the driver installed, while CPU usage remained relatively high.

Microsoft previously worked with AMD to bring Advanced Shader Delivery support to a number of games in May, available only through the Xbox app.
