OWL Systems' OWLfCrypto V1.0 wins KCMVP certification

The in-house C-language cryptographic module achieved security level 1 and supports nine STMicroelectronics chipsets, dailysecu.com reported.

OWL Systems' OWLfCrypto V1.0, a cryptographic module for MCU firmware, has passed KCMVP verification by South Korea's National Intelligence Service, dailysecu.com reported on November 5, 2026. The module achieved security level 1.

OWL Systems developed OWLfCrypto V1.0 in-house in the C language, targeting embedded devices with limited memory and processing speed. The module supports nine chipsets built on STMicroelectronics' ARM Cortex-M4, Cortex-M7 and Cortex-M33 cores, covering the STM32F4, STM32F7, STM32H7, STM32L4 and STM32U5 product lines.

Cipher and authentication support

According to the company, the module covers ARIA and LEA block ciphers, ECDSA signatures, ECDH key agreement, SHA-256 and SHA-512 hashes, and HMAC message authentication.

OWL Systems said it plans to supply the module to manufacturers of smart infrastructure, national defense and public IoT devices.
