Robot Maker Supports Disaster Drill at Sejong Center

The company deployed a quadruped robot to search a collapsed structure during a simulated fire and crowd accident at the Sejong Center in Seoul.

A robotics company supported a disaster response drill at the Sejong Center in Seoul by deploying a quadruped robot to search and scout the scene, the company said. The drill, the 2026 Jongno-gu Comprehensive Emergency Rescue Training, simulated a complex disaster involving a fire during a performance, a crowd accident during evacuation, and a building collapse.

The quadruped robot was sent into a section of the collapsed structure to check the interior before rescue teams entered. Video collected by the robot was shared in real time, giving command officials information to decide whether to send in personnel.

The company said it supported the robot's deployment and on-site operation by taking into account the movement path, communication environment, and video transmission method. According to datanet.co.kr, the exercise was held to test how robots can be used in actual rescue operations.

Earlier deployment

In September, the company also supported the operation of a quadruped robot at a comprehensive emergency rescue and fire helicopter command drill in Yeongju, Gyeongbuk. During that exercise, the robot explored and searched the interior of a building in an area where rescue teams could not enter after a secondary explosion, and shared on-site video.
