Replit CEO Outlines 'Self-Driving Company' at TechCrunch Disrupt
Amjad Masad said AI agents triage Replit's support tickets by reviewing GitHub issues, the codebase and Linear tickets before a human sees them.
Replit CEO and co-founder Amjad Masad used his appearance at TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco on Thursday to lay out his vision of a "self-driving company," in which AI agents carry out much of the routine work while humans supply judgment and taste.
Masad pointed to Replit's support operation as an early example. Support tickets are first examined by an agent that triages them by looking at GitHub issues, the codebase and Linear tickets before a human ever sees the request, he said.
When a support person decides to submit a patch to apply a fix, deploying another agent takes just a click, according to Masad.
He said AI agents became more reliable earlier this year, and that Replit now spends more time on architecture and deciding what to work on.
Masad added that the company's conversations with other businesses center on how AI can make people more productive and happier at work.
