Samsung, Hyundai Motor Group to Hold First Appreciation Day on November 9

About 170 executives and spouses from both groups are expected at Samsung's The Universe training center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Group will hold their first inter-group exchange event, named Appreciation Day, at Samsung Electronics' training center The Universe in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province on the afternoon of November 9, according to inews24.com.

The event is co-hosted by the Samsung Electronics vice chairman and the Hyundai Motor Group vice chairman. About 170 people are expected to attend, including presidents of affiliates of both companies and their spouses.

Samsung attendees reportedly include the Samsung Electronics CEOs, the Samsung SDI CEO, the Samsung Electro-Mechanics CEO and the Samsung Display CEO. On the Hyundai side, Hyundai Motor President José Muñoz and Hyundai and Kia R&D Division President Manfred Harrer are reportedly on the list.

The two groups already have several business ties. The Genesis GV90 was launched with Samsung SDI prismatic batteries, and Samsung Electronics' foundry division reportedly won an order to mass-produce Hyundai Motor's autonomous driving semiconductors.

Samsung has also operated a service linking its SmartThings smart home platform with Hyundai and Kia vehicles, and in March this year began the Car to Home service allowing control of home air conditioners and air purifiers from the vehicle infotainment screen.
