Schneider Electric Unveils Power, Cooling Strategy for Korean Chip Fabs

Schneider Electric announced integrated power, cooling and automation infrastructure for semiconductor fabs, including the Galaxy VXL UPS and Omniverse-based digital twins.

Schneider Electric announced an integrated infrastructure strategy for semiconductor manufacturing facilities on the 11th, combining power, cooling, automation and data-driven operations technologies, according to ZDNet Korea.

At the center of the offering is the Galaxy VXL, a three-phase UPS supporting 500 to 1250 kW. The company says the unit delivers up to 97.5% power efficiency in double conversion mode and up to 99% in its 'eConversion' high-efficiency mode. Galaxy VXL also features live swap technology that allows power modules to be replaced without stopping operation.

Schneider Electric plans to extend the power protection technology it has supplied to data centers into Korean semiconductor fabs. The company has conducted long-term proof of concept work with a US semiconductor company, expecting about 10% power savings in utilities and about 2.5% across the whole fab.

Digital twin work with Nvidia and ETAP

Schneider Electric is currently supporting TSMC's AI factory construction in Taiwan using Nvidia Omniverse and ETAP technology, according to the company.
