SK Hynix posts record Q3 revenue above 100 trillion won, plans 100 trillion won returns

SK hynix reported third-quarter consolidated revenue of 104.6155 trillion won, operating profit of 83.3338 trillion won and net profit of 39.7756 trillion won, according to techm.kr. It was the first time the company's quarterly revenue has passed 100 trillion won.

Revenue rose 328% year on year and operating profit rose 632%, while on a quarterly basis the two figures grew 32% and 38% respectively. The operating margin for the quarter was 80%.

The company said it will pursue about 100 trillion won in shareholder returns for fiscal 2026, made up of more than 30 trillion won in cash dividends and more than 60 trillion won in share buybacks and cancellations. The board approved a third-quarter cash dividend of 14 trillion won and a 20 trillion won share buyback; 10 trillion won of the repurchased shares will be fully cancelled, while roughly 10 trillion won is set aside for employee compensation and not counted in shareholder returns.

The third-quarter dividend per share is 20,000 won, consisting of 10,000 won based on performance and a 10,000 won special dividend sharing gains from its Kioxia investment.

HBM4 and long-term contracts

SK hynix said it expects HBM4 to surpass HBM3E in both shipments and revenue in the fourth quarter and become its main product, and it plans to maximise M15X production capacity by the end of the year to raise HBM4 output. It has signed long-term supply contracts with 14 major customers including global cloud service providers, covering more than 50% of total production capacity for 2027 and 2028, and is discussing extending the usual five-year term with some customers. The company expects demand to exceed supply through 2030.

In August 2026, SK hynix announced a 40 trillion won share buyback, which it completed the previous week before this article.
