SK Telecom names winners of AX Spark AI agent contest

SK Telecom held the final round of its in-house AI agent contest AX Spark on November 3, 2026, and gave awards to the best entries, the company announced. The contest was set up to validate and evaluate AI agents developed through its internal AI transformation activities.

AX Spark ran for three months, from August to October 2026, and drew 173 submissions from employees across the company, including the MNO CIC and AI CIC, according to inews24.com. Twenty entries were selected through monthly preliminary rounds, and five final candidates were picked by internal and external judges' evaluations and employee voting for the final held that day.

Five finalists

The AT/DT Center presented ATLAS, a multi-agent platform designed to handle everything from service planning to development and operation. The Network Center submitted PYLON, an AI agent that analyzes the electricity usage and charges of about 180,000 communication facilities nationwide.

The A. business division presented AUTO LLM JUDGE, a quality control agent that evaluates AI responses and identifies the causes of wrong answers and improvement priorities, along with an AI service operation agent that automates customer response, quality evaluation and failure response. The Integrated Security Center reached the finals with M-TripleA, an AI agent that analyzes malicious apps installed on smartphones and automatically tracks attack servers.

SK Telecom plans to spread AI agents in use in the field company-wide, centering on the contest winners. The company has run a "one person, one agent" strategy, providing development platforms such as the internal AX community AXMS, A. Biz, Polaris and Playground along with staged training programs; through these efforts, more than 5,000 work-related AI agents were developed in-house this year.
