SteelSeries has announced the Rival Pro and Sensei Pro, two new wireless gaming mice that will launch on October 13th for $179.99 each. Both are available to preorder now. The company also announced miniature versions of both form factors.
The mice weigh 53 grams in black and one gram more in white, while the mini versions weigh four grams less. They feature swappable batteries and a wireless base station. Each battery is rated to last 16 hours at an 8,000Hz polling rate and 60 hours at 1,000Hz.
Instead of the usual 2.4GHz connection, the mice communicate with their base station via ultra-wideband between 6.4GHz and 9.056GHz. SteelSeries says UWB affords the mice 20 times the bandwidth and lower latency.
SteelSeries also announced SuperSync, which decouples click and sensor polling, and Smart DPI, which automatically adjusts DPI between in-game and menu navigation. The GG companion app is now available as a browser-based web app in Chrome or Edge.
