WhatsApp tests media hub on iOS in beta 26.42.10.74

The hub, already live on Mac and the web, gathers received photos, videos and links in WhatsApp's settings but is not yet available to beta testers.

WhatsApp is developing a media hub for iOS, according to code found in WhatsApp beta version 26.42.10.74 and reported by gsmarena.com. The feature will sit inside the app's settings.

The hub shows only received media, leaving out items the user has sent as well as disappearing messages. It is split into two tabs: New for recently received items and All media for everything.

Inside the hub, users can filter by photos, videos or links, switch between list and grid views, and tap a heart icon to see only items they have reacted to. Each item can be forwarded to another conversation, reacted to, starred, or used to jump to the chat it came from. A search function works with photo and video captions as well as links.

The feature is still under development and is not yet available to beta testers.

Already on Mac and the web

WhatsApp previously introduced a media hub on Mac and the web that displays photos, videos, links and documents from all conversations in one place, a version that is already in use.
