Windows 11 Beta Build 26320.9876 Adds Sticky Keys Off Checkbox

The new dialog checkbox lets users disable Sticky Keys without navigating to Ease of Access settings, Microsoft's beta build shows.

Microsoft has added a checkbox to the Sticky Keys dialog box in Windows 11 Insider Beta Preview Build 26320.9876, according to xda-developers.com. The option is labelled "Never turn on Sticky Keys with this shortcut."

Checking the box and closing the window turns Sticky Keys off without requiring users to open the Ease of Access settings.

In earlier builds, the dialog box only explained the feature and provided a link to the settings page that holds the Sticky Keys toggle. Turning the feature off meant leaving the pop-up and finding that switch.

The change targets a long-standing point of friction: pressing the Shift key five times triggers Windows to enable Sticky Keys, accompanied by a beep and a notification. Users who trigger it by accident previously had no direct way to switch it off from the dialog.

Tested in the Beta channel

Neowin tested the build and reported on the revised dialog. The change is part of an Insider Beta Preview release and is not yet documented as available in stable versions of Windows 11.
