The design platform is also merging its product, growth and platform teams and requiring two to three days a week in the office.

Canva announced on November 4, 2026 that it will cut 1,271 employees, about 22% of its workforce, according to watch.impress.co.jp. Employees leaving the company will be allowed to keep their Canva MacBook.

In a message to staff, the company's CEO said everyone departing will be able to keep the laptop. Canva said the measure is intended for people who do not own a personal laptop.

The departing employees will receive six months of salary, 12 months of continued health insurance, coaching and one year of LinkedIn Premium.

Organizational changes
